No experience? No problem. Simple ways to make your first resume clear, honest and interview-ready.
Your first resume does not need years of experience. It needs to show clearly what you know, what you have built and why you are ready to learn more.
The tips
- Keep it to one page with a clean, simple layout.
- Start with a short summary: who you are and the role you want.
- List skills you can actually use, grouped (for example: Languages, Tools, Databases).
- Add 2–3 projects with one line each on what you built and which tools you used.
- Include links to your GitHub, portfolio or LinkedIn.
- Mention courses and certificates, but put projects first.
- Check spelling and save it as a PDF with your name in the file name.
Before you send it
Read the job description and adjust your summary and skills to match it. A resume made for one job usually works better than one general resume sent everywhere.
